Milan's Gothic Cathedral

Territory: The region occupies the central part of the Po Valley. Its northern borders are formed by the Lepontine, Rhaetian and Orobic Alps. It includes a hilly district with the major Italian lakes, from Lago Maggiore to the Lakes of Varese, Iseo, Como and to Lake Gardia. This region is rich in water, thanks to the river Po affluents.

Major Cities: The regional capital is Milan. Other important cities and capitals of the respective provinces are: Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Varese, Sondrio, Pavia, Cremona, Mantova, Lodi, Lecco.
