Umbria

Territory: This region is called the green heart of Italy, it is mostly mountainous and hilly and presents a landscape rich in woods and water resources. It is crossed by the Appenines, which form numerous valleys. This region has a comparatively large lake: the Trasimeno.

Major Cities: Perugia is the regional capital; Terni is the chief town of the other existing homonymous province.
