SHIPPING COMPANIES

Information about the boats and hydrofoils that connect the island to Naples and to other ports of the bay. Before bringing your car to Capri, it is better to contact the shipping company as there are many restrictions.

ON ARRIVAL AT THE PORT

Having landed at Marina Grande you can reach the famous "Piazzetta" of Capri in ten minutes, by taxi, the fare is about 18.000 lire, or in 5 minutes, by funicular, the ticket costs 1.500 lire. If you want to go directly to Anacapri it is best to take a taxi, the fare is about 25.000 lire. You could also use the public bus service, but from here the buses are not very frequent; whereas from Capri center they leave every 15 minutes. The ticket costs 1.500 lire.

Capri town is all pedestrian so you will have to walk to your hotel either from the last stop of the funicular or from the taxi stand. If you have any luggage remember that all the hotels offer and charge for a transport service from the port. Ask the hotel representatives at the port and they will look after your luggage and send it to your hotel. This is the most economical and least tiring solution to avoid a "heavy" impact with Capri.
