Pennsylvania State University's program, Research Training in Mental Health and Aging, announces an opening for a postdoctoral fellow, offering training on issues in the mental health of older people, including: (1) Applied cognition and assessment; (2) generational and caregiving issues; (3) the evaluation of interventions; and (4) behavioral genetics of mental health in later life. VA Medical Center
The VA Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas offers a fellowship in mental health services research. Funding is for 1 year with a second year option. The stipend is $34,000/yr, with an additional $7,000 available for the fellow's research or educational expenses. The fellowship program is designed to prepare fellows for independent investigation in the areas of access/utilization, outcomes, and cost effectiveness of mental health services. Current field program research is concentrated in 5 clinical areas: depressive disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse, comorbidity, and dementias. Applicants must have completed a doctoral program in a relevent field other than medicine, and are requested to submit a CV, a brief overview of their areas of research interest, short-term fellowship objectives, long-term career goals, and 3 letters of recommendation.
