University of Northern Colorado - Assistant Professor Position

The University of Northern Colorado is accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Human Services with the possibility of a summer appointment. Candidates must have a doctorate degree in a related field to Gerontology (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Family Relations, Human Development, Urban Planning, etc.), a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, teaching experience at the university level, and a record of scholarly activity and research funding. Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech is accepting applications for the Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Gerontology position (75% Extension; 25% Instruction), a 12 month, tenure-track appointment. Responsibilities include: providing statewide leadership in gerontology to county and city extension agents in collaboration with other specialty areas within Family and Consumer Sciences Programs; developing and providing aging-related educational materials and resources for extension personnel; traveling throughout the state to provide in-service training for extension personnel; monitoring federal and state policies and distributing policy information; conducting research and publishing in scholarly journals; and teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in human development, gerontology, or related field. Experience in cooperative extension is preferred. UAB School of Medicine

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine is accepting applications for a Project Coordinator on a 5-year NIH- funded research project. The goal of the project is to design, implement, and evaluate environmental/behavioral interventions for individuals caring for family members with severe memory problems caused by Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders. Responsibilities include: coordination of all administrative and research activities related to the project; implementation of recruitment strategies; structured interviews with subjects; intervention development; data management; and project related correspondence with the NIH. Applicants must have at least a Masters Degree, preferably in Psychology or a related discipline. Knowledge of clinical research methods is required.

The Department of Gerontology is accepting applications for a tenure track position at the assistant to associate professor level for Fall 1997, contingent upon funding. A doctorate in gerontology, a social or behavioral science, or related field at the time of appointment is required.
