  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Cigarette Smoking
  • Personal or family history of strokes
  • Gender - men are higher risk
  • Race - black are higher risk
  • Age - over 55
  • Overweight
If you fall in these risk groups, ask for an Ultra Sound test.
Stroke Symptons
  • Sudden weakness or numbness of face, arm or leg on one side of the body
  • Sudden dimness or loss of vision, particularly in one eye
  • Loss of speech or trouble talking or understanding speech
  • Sudden severe headaches with no apparent cause - "The headache from Hell"
  • Unexplained dizziness, unsteadiness, loss of balance or sudden falls, especially along with any of the previous symptoms
STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY!

If you have any of these symptoms rush to your nearest hospital.
