(From "Chair Sets" Book 206 in 1944). Substitutions will most certainly be necessary. This chair set is the companion to the Windows Shade Pull #7673.
| Here's a little something neat to do.....just drag your mouse over a color and watch the background on this page.....neat. :) |

CHAIR BACK . . .Make a chain about 15 inches long. (13 ch sts to an inch).
1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next ch, * (ch 5, skip 3 ch, sc in next ch) 3 times; ch 5, skip 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch. Repeat from * 8 more times (ten 3-dc groups made). Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn.
2nd row:: * 3 dc in next loop, (ch 5,sc in next loop) twice; ch 5, 3 dc in next loop, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in top st of ch 5. Ch 5, turn.
3rd row: * Dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, 3 dc in next loop, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in 3rd st of ch 5. Ch 5, turn.
4th row: Dc in next 6 dc, 3 dc in next loop, ch 2, 3 dc in next loop, dc in next 6 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in 3rd st of ch 5. Ch 1, turn.
5th row: *Sc in next sp, ch 5, skip 3 dc, dc in next 6 dc, ch 2, dc in next 6 dc, ch 5. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 5, sc in last sp. Ch 5, turn.
6th row:Sc in next loop, * ch 5, skip 3 dc, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, dc in next 3 dc, (ch 5, sc in next loop) twice. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc. Ch 5, turn.
7th row: Sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, * ch 5, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, (ch 5, sc in next loop) 3 times. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in 3rd st of ch 5. Ch 1, turn.
8th row: Sc in loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, * ch 5, 3 dc in next loop, ch 2, 3 dc in next loop, (ch 5, sc in next loop) twice. Repeat from * across, ending with sc in last loop. Ch 5, turn.
9th row: Sc in next loop, * ch 5, 3 dc in next loop, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 2, dc in last sc. Ch 5, turn.
10th row: * 3 dc in next loop, dc in next 6 dc, ch 2, dc in next 6 dc, 3 dc in next loop, ch 2. Repeat from * across ending row as before. Ch 5, turn.
11th row: Dc in next 6 dc, ch 5, sc in next sp, ch 5, skip 3 dc, dc in next 6 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending row as before. Ch 5, turn.
12th row:Dc in next 3 dc, (ch 5, sc in next loop) twice; ch 5, skip 3 dc,dc in next 3 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending row as before. Ch 3, turn.
13th row: 2 dc in sp, * (ch 5, sc in next loop) 3 times; ch 5, 3 dc in next sp. Repeat from * across, ending with 3 dc in last sp. Ch 5, turn. Repeat 2nd to 13th rows incl for 8 inches, ending with 13th row.
Do not break off, but work beading as follows:
1st rnd: Work 3 sc under each dc or turning ch along this 8-inch side, across next side make sc in each dc of each 3-dc group and 4 sc in each loop. Work other two sides to correspond. Sl st in 1st sc made.
2nd rnd: Ch 11, 2 tr in same place as sl st, * ch 3, skip 3 sc, tr in next 2 sc. Repeat from * around, making 2 tr, ch 7 and 2 tr in each corner sc and ending with tr at base of starting chain, sl st in 4th st of this chain.
3rd rnd: Ch 1, 9 sc in corner sp, * sc in next 2 tr, 3 sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, making 9 sc in each corner sp. Sl st in 1st sc made.
4th rnd: Sl st in next 3 sc, sc in next (corner) sc, ch 8, dc in same place as sc was made, * ch 5, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around, making dc, ch 5 and dc in each corner sc and having on each side a number of loops divisible by 5 plus 4, excluding corner loops. Sl st in 3rd st of ch-8.
5th rnd:Sl st in corner loop, ch 4, holding back on hook the last loop of each tr make 2 tr in same loop, thread ove and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), ch 5, make 4 more 3-tr clusters in same loop with ch 5 between clusters, * ch 3, skip next loop, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 3, skip next loop, in next loop make three 3-tr clusters with ch 5 between. Repeat from * around, making 5 clusters with ch 5 between in each corner loop. Join last ch-3 with sl st to 1st cluster.
6th rnd: Make 3 sc over each ch-3 and over each ch-5 make 3 sc, p and 3 sc--to make a p, ch 3 and sc in 3rd ch from hook. Fasten off. Cut 1 1/2 yards of ribbon. Pass ribbon through beading, making a bow at one corner.
ARM PIECES: . . . Make a chain about 7 inches long and work as for Chair Back, having four 3-dc groups in 1st row. Work beading as before.
